FAITH & SPIRITUALITY: CITY-WIDE REVIVAL AIMS TO UNITE CITY
F rom May 27-29, the second City-Wide Unity Revival will hit the city of Winston-Salem. Organized by Travest Hunter, the goal of the revival is to bring together the religious community of the city in hopes of uniting for the greater good of Winston-Salem. Hunter says he noticed that Christian churches of all denominations, not only in Winston-Salem but across the nation, all worship the same God but they don’t work together in any way, shape or form. To help combat this, Hu

SPORTS COLUMN: WOLFPACK COME UP JUST SHORT OF STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Walkertown Wolfpack almost had a dream season, falling one game shy of achieving their ultimate goal of a state championship. The Wolfpack finished the season with a 20-9 overall record, culminated by an 80-54 loss to state champion Kinston High School. Even with this loss, Walkertown shocked a lot of people and quie

Davis took over for legendary head coach Roy Williams in the 2022 season, after being an assistant under Williams for the previous decade. Davis’ tenure was truly a roller coaster ride but he did finish with a 125-54 overall record, which is almo

There is an adage that goes “the customer is always right.” For Sonya Colyar, owner of Simply Sonya’s Lounge and Restaurant, she pays attention to what her customers tell her. And when one regular customer suggested she should be a Hope du Jour restaurant, she took it to heart. “I’d seen it advertised, but I didn’t understand how it worked. After I learned more, I signed up and I’m excited to be a part of it. It’s so easy to help Crisis Control Ministry, I love that.” Sonya

If you’re looking for some great soul music, it’s worth the 30-minute drive up Hwy. 421 to Yadkinville and the Willingham Theatre, located in the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center, 226 E, Main St. in Yadkinville. This has become a favorite place of mine, not only for their creative art exhibits and state-of-the-art theatre that features a variety of plays and music, but also for dining at the Southern-inspired Bistro that is inside the venue. The complex also includes multiple art
